Nevamar® High Pressure Decorative Laminate SCL core commercial wood doors are heavy-duty interior doors designed for strength, durability, and long-term performance in demanding commercial environments. Structural Composite Lumber (SCL) cores are made by bonding wood strands or veneers with structural adhesives under heat and pressure, creating a dense, uniform core with superior screw-holding strength and dimensional stability.

These commercial wood doors are commonly used as doors for offices, schools, hospitals, government buildings, and multifamily housing. Their solid construction makes them ideal for high-traffic areas, corridors, and openings requiring heavy hardware such as access control systems and door closers.

SCL core doors are also available with fire ratings for code-compliant installations and can be specified with veneer, laminate, or prefinished wood door faces. Known for their durability and reliability, SCL core doors are a premium choice for commercial applications requiring strong, stable, and long-lasting interior wood doors.

Core Construction

  • Laminated strand lumber (single species), kiln dried and glued
  • Core bonded to stiles and rails for structural performance

Stiles and Rails

  • Stiles: 1-3/8″ 2-ply hardwood bonded to core (solid hardwood optional)
  • Rails: 1-1/8″ minimum, bonded to core
  • Stile and rail dimensions may vary based on machining requirements
