Standard for Most Commercial Doors
PC Core
Particleboard serves as the “standard” core material for most non-fire rated and 20-minute fire rated wood doors.
SCL Core
Structural composite lumber offers higher durability and greater screw-holding compared to particleboard core doors.
Mineral Core
Mineral core wood doors are designed to withstand exposure to fire for 45-, 60-, or 90-minutes.
Specialty Door Types
STC or acoustical doors are used in studios, theaters, machine rooms and other applications where audible noise is a concern.
Lead lined doors resist the transfer of radiation in medical, energy and aerospace facilities.

20 MIN: 20 minute fire rated doors are used in 1-hour walls where smoke and draft control is a concern.
45 MIN: 45 minute fire rated doors are used in 1-hour corridors, room partition walls, or exterior walls that may be subject to moderate fire.
60 MIN: 60-minute fire rated doors are used in 1-hour walls that divide occupancies in buildings.
90 MIN: 90-minute fire rated doors are required in two-hour walls, stairwells, elevator shafts, boiler rooms and exterior areas with severe fire risk.
3 HR / 180 MIN: 180 minute, or 3-hour, fire rated doors are required in 4-hour walls that separate a large building, or multiple buildings into designated fire areas. Wood doors are not approved for use in these openings.
Interior Commercial Doors: Solid-core wood doors are frequently used for interior commercial door openings.
“P-Lam Doors:” Solid-core wood doors can be manufactured with high-pressure laminate door skins.
Pre-Finished Wood Doors: Commercial wood doors can be manufactured with factory applied stain colors.
Wood Doors with Windows: Commercial wood doors are compatible with most vision lites and door window-kits.
